Baltimore’s startup community is coming together this Thursday, October 1st, in an unprecedented way. Presented by Betamore, Plank Industries, and Technical.ly Baltimore, Beta City blends a live pitch competition and awards festival into a one-day event highlighting the region’s top makers and entrepreneurs. The event is part of Baltimore Innovation Week 2015.
Beta City will be hosted at City Garage: 101 W. Dickman Street. The event is split into three parts. First, eight startups will present their business pitches to investors. Afterward is a VIP tour of City Garage, a 130,000 square foot bus garage converted by Plank Industries—a development firm run by Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank—into a dynamic space where fifteen more organizations are on board to demo their products and services.
There, citybizlist CEO Edwin Warfield will conduct interviews with Beta City participants and team members at a booth shared with Offit Kurman. All attendees are encouraged to stop by.
The celebration will culminate in an awards ceremony, networking, and an after-party featuring music and merrymaking.
To commemorate this historic event, citybizlist and Offit Kurman present an exclusive interview with Betamore CEO Jennifer Meyer.
